museum in Illinois dedicated to the Amish culture.

Arthur Amish, The large “Old Order Amish
“settlement surrounding Arthur is Illinois’
largest Amish settlement More than 3500 members of this
religious faith, most living within a buggy-ride of
Arthur, have shunned the faced-paced life of modern
society and continue to farm with horse drawn
implements, and operate their small businesses without
the aid of modern conveniences.
More than 200 country businesses are located in
the Arthur area, complimenting a vigourous “English”
business are in Arthur.
Because of their strong religious beliefs all
Amish businesses are closed on Sunday, but some Arthur
shops and restaurants are open.
